# About AgriStewards

What if something as practical as teaching someone how to improve their farm could also open the door to sharing the Gospel?

That's the idea behind [AgriStewards](https://www.agristewards.org/?ref=ministryy.com).

AgriStewards is a Christian agricultural ministry that helps individuals, families, and communities meet basic needs through better farming while introducing people to the hope of Jesus Christ. The ministry equips farmers with practical knowledge they can use to improve their own livelihoods rather than simply providing temporary assistance.

Its mission brings together two things that naturally fit within many rural communities: agriculture and the Gospel.

## Farming With a Purpose

For millions of families around the world, farming isn't simply a profession.

It's how food reaches the table.

When crops fail or agricultural practices aren't producing enough food, the consequences can affect nearly every part of family life. Food insecurity can make it difficult to save money, educate children, invest in the future, or recover from unexpected hardship.

AgriStewards believes practical agricultural knowledge can help change that.

The ministry trains people in farming techniques designed to improve productivity while caring responsibly for the land and using resources that are realistically available to local farmers.

Rather than creating dependence, the goal is to give people knowledge they can continue using and sharing.

## Farming God's Way

One of the primary approaches used by AgriStewards is Farming God's Way.

Farming God's Way combines biblical principles with agricultural management and conservation techniques. Training includes both classroom instruction and hands-on demonstrations so participants don't simply hear about new farming methods—they learn how to put them into practice.

Topics can include soil conservation, composting, crop management, preparing planting areas, fertility, and other techniques relevant to small-scale farmers and gardeners.

But the training isn't only agricultural.

Biblical teaching is intentionally woven throughout the program.

AgriStewards points to Jesus Himself, who frequently used farming and agricultural imagery when teaching spiritual truths. In a similar way, the ministry uses conversations about seeds, soil, harvests, stewardship, and farming to help people understand God's Word and the Gospel.

## Equipping People to Help Themselves

AgriStewards doesn't want farmers to remain dependent on outside organizations.

Its purpose is to help people gain knowledge and skills that allow them to contribute to their own development and strengthen their communities.

A farmer who learns a better technique can use it season after season.

Even better, that farmer can teach someone else.

This creates an opportunity for agricultural knowledge to multiply naturally through families, churches, villages, and farming communities.

AgriStewards has taken agricultural training into regions including Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean, working with farmers, pastors, missionaries, church planters, students, and local Christian ministries.

## Equipping the Church for Agricultural Missions

AgriStewards also helps connect agricultural knowledge with Christian missions.

Farmers, agronomists, livestock specialists, educators, and other agricultural professionals can possess skills that are incredibly valuable in communities where farming is central to everyday survival.

AgriStewards creates opportunities for people with those skills to use their experience in missions.

Training can prepare Christians to serve internationally, while partnerships with missionaries and local leaders help agricultural knowledge reach communities where it can make a practical difference.

## Planting More Than Crops

Ultimately, AgriStewards wants agricultural development to point beyond a better harvest.

Improved farming can help families produce food, strengthen livelihoods, and build greater stability. At the same time, relationships formed through agricultural training can create opportunities to talk about faith and introduce people to Jesus.

That's why AgriStewards describes its work as “Farming God's Way.”

At the heart of AgriStewards is the belief that giving people practical knowledge can help break cycles of poverty—and when that knowledge is shared alongside the Gospel, seeds can be planted that reach far beyond the farm.
