# About All Pro Dad

Being a good dad doesn't mean having everything figured out.

There are moments when you know exactly what your child needs from you. Then there are moments when you're wondering whether you're saying the right thing, spending enough time together, or handling a difficult situation the right way.

[All Pro Dad](https://www.allprodad.com/?ref=ministryy.com) exists for those moments.

All Pro Dad is the fatherhood program of Family First, a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening families. Its mission is simple: help fathers love and lead their families well.

Rather than treating fatherhood as something men should automatically know how to do, All Pro Dad gives dads practical encouragement they can actually use. The goal is to help fathers become more intentional about the relationships they have with their children and recognize just how much their presence matters.

## Helping Dads Show Up

Much of All Pro Dad's message comes down to something surprisingly simple: being there.

Children need fathers who take an interest in their lives and intentionally build relationships with them. But being present is about more than living in the same house.

It's listening when your child wants to talk. It's creating memories together. It's asking questions that lead to meaningful conversations and continuing to show up even when parenting becomes frustrating.

All Pro Dad helps fathers think about those everyday moments differently.

Through articles, videos, podcasts, emails, and other resources, dads can find practical guidance for situations they're already facing at home. The topics range from navigating the teenage years to strengthening a marriage, but the larger message remains consistent.

Fatherhood matters every day.

## Bringing Fathers Into Schools

Sometimes the best way to strengthen a relationship is simply to create space for it.

That's the idea behind All Pro Dad Chapters.

These chapters bring dads and their children together at school once a month, often over breakfast. Instead of turning the gathering into another school meeting, the program gives fathers and children an opportunity to slow down and spend intentional time together.

Conversation becomes the centerpiece.

Age-appropriate lessons help families talk about character and life while activities make the experience enjoyable for children. Fathers get to know their kids better, while children experience their dads taking an active interest in their world.

The program has grown to more than 1,000 chapters across over 40 states.

## Making Memories Together

All Pro Dad also takes father-child connection outside the school environment.

Through the All Pro Dad Experience, dads and their children can spend a day together participating in activities inside NFL or NCAA stadiums.

The events grew from a conversation between Family First founder Mark Merrill and former NFL coach Tony Dungy.

Dungy had noticed that some of his players needed encouragement in their roles as fathers. Merrill shared his passion for strengthening families, and together they organized an event where dads could spend intentional time with their children at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' facility.

More than 3,000 people showed up.

What began as an experiment eventually developed into All Pro Dad Experiences, which have since been held more than 130 times.

## Winning the Everyday

All Pro Dad doesn't present great fatherhood as one dramatic moment.

It's built in ordinary ones.

A conversation before school can matter. So can putting your phone away when your child starts talking. Asking a better question at dinner might open a conversation you didn't know your child needed.

That's why All Pro Dad makes its resources easy to fit into everyday life. A dad can read a short email during his lunch break, listen to a fatherhood conversation on his commute, spend time with his child at a school chapter, or create a memory together at an annual experience.

Each becomes another opportunity to be intentional.

And behind that practical encouragement is a deeper biblical purpose. Family First describes its strategy as helping parents move toward deeper biblical marriage and parenting content and ultimately toward trusting God.

At the heart of All Pro Dad is the belief that great fatherhood isn't about being perfect. It's about continuing to show up, continuing to grow, and intentionally loving and leading the family God has entrusted to you.
