About Apologetics Press

Why do you believe God exists?

Can you trust that the Bible has been accurately preserved?

What should Christians make of evolution, dinosaurs, fossils, and claims that the earth is billions of years old?

And when your child starts asking those questions, will you know what to say?

Apologetics Press exists to help Christians answer them.

Apologetics Press is a nonprofit Christian apologetics organization dedicated to defending New Testament Christianity. Its work brings together biblical study, logical reasoning, scientific arguments, and Christian evidences with a simple goal:

Help people see why faith in God, the Bible, and Jesus Christ is reasonable and true.

Faith That Can Handle Questions

Apologetics Press takes its inspiration in part from 1 Peter 3:15, where Christians are instructed to be ready to give a defense for the hope within them.

Being ready matters because questions eventually come.

Sometimes they come from a skeptic.

Other times they come from someone sitting beside you at church.

And sometimes they come from your own children.

AP wants Christians to understand their faith deeply enough that difficult questions don't immediately become reasons for fear.

Instead, questions can become opportunities to investigate the evidence.

Looking at the World and Seeing a Creator

Science plays an especially important role in the ministry.

Apologetics Press frequently points readers toward the complexity and order found throughout nature as evidence for God's existence.

That can mean looking upward at the enormous scale of the universe.

Or it can mean looking much closer at the remarkable complexity of the human body.

The ministry argues that the natural world ultimately points beyond itself toward an intelligent Creator.

AP also approaches origins from a young-earth creationist perspective. Its resources defend the Genesis account of creation and challenge evolutionary explanations of life's development.

Subjects such as dinosaurs, fossils, the age of the earth, Noah's Flood, human origins, and scientific laws therefore appear regularly throughout its teaching.

Defending the Bible Itself

Of course, believing in a Creator doesn't automatically establish Christianity.

So the conversation has to continue.

Apologetics Press also spends considerable time examining whether the Bible can be trusted.

Its writers explore questions surrounding biblical inspiration and alleged contradictions while examining historical and archaeological evidence connected with Scripture.

From there, attention turns toward Jesus.

AP defends His deity and resurrection while presenting Christianity as the true revelation of God and Jesus Christ as humanity's Savior.

That's an important distinction.

The ministry isn't interested in apologetics simply because intellectual questions are interesting.

It wants those questions to eventually lead people toward God.

Preparing Children Before the Questions Arrive

One of the most distinctive parts of Apologetics Press is how seriously it takes children's apologetics.

AP doesn't believe Christians should wait until someone reaches college before teaching them why they believe.

It starts much earlier.

Its Discovery magazine introduces children to lessons about Scripture and the natural world in an accessible format. Younger readers can explore books about God's creation, while older children can work through increasingly detailed Christian evidences material.

Programs such as Digger Doug's Underground use video to introduce apologetic and scientific questions.

The Advanced Bible Reader encourages children to actually spend time reading Scripture for themselves.

For parents, churches, Christian schools, and homeschool families, these resources can become part of building a Christian worldview before children encounter competing explanations elsewhere.

Resources for the Whole Church

Children aren't the only audience.

For decades, AP's Reason & Revelation journal has explored Christian evidences at a more advanced level.

The organization also produces books, articles, videos, Bible curriculum, Vacation Bible School materials, Bible cards, and other teaching resources.

Its speakers travel to churches and events to teach Christian evidences in person.

Public debates take the conversation into another setting, allowing AP's apologists to engage people who directly challenge Christian claims.

At the more academic end, scholars and scientists contribute material for readers who want to investigate particular questions much more deeply.

A large portion of AP's material is also made available digitally without charge.

That means someone doesn't necessarily need to enroll in a class or purchase an apologetics library before they can begin learning.

They can simply start with a question.

Pointing Beyond the Evidence

Apologetics Press uses an interesting illustration to describe its role.

Think about the informational signs beside exhibits in a museum.

You don't visit the museum because you want to admire the signs.

The signs help you understand what you're looking at.

AP sees its resources similarly.

The article isn't supposed to become the destination.

Neither is the book, debate, video, scientific argument, or archaeological discovery.

They're signs pointing beyond themselves.

Ultimately, Apologetics Press wants people looking toward their Creator.

At the heart of Apologetics Press is the conviction that Christians don't have to separate faith from careful thinking. By examining Scripture, science, history, logic, and the evidence for Christianity, the ministry seeks to equip believers of every age to understand why they believe—and then use that confidence to point themselves and others toward God, His Word, and the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ.
